Apple Macbook Pro 2019 Recovery Case – Not powering on, not charging

Apple MacBook data recovery case

This Macbook turned off by itself one day and would not charge or power on

  • A customer approached us with a Macbook Pro that was not turning on or charging (very common problem we see).
  • The customer had visited the Apple Store before coming to us and was told that the Logic Board had failed and needed to be replaced. Apple were happy to replace the Logic Board but recommended that the customer get their data recovered before the Logic Board replacement.
  • Our team opened the Macbook and removed the Logic Board and were able to find a single, small component that was causing the machine to not power on (since all of the circuitry for these newer Macbooks are mounted on one single Logic Board, all it takes is 1 small component failure to cause the machine to not power on). In this case, the customer is very lucky that only 1 component was causing the issue, we have had some cases where multiple components are causing the problem, those types of cases are much more complex to recover.
  • Once the faulty component was replaced with a component from a donor Logic Board, the machine was able to successfully power on.
  • We then made a backup of the data from the Macbook to a brand new external hard drive and provided this back to the customer.
  • Since the recovery was a perfect result, the customer was able to return to Apple and have the Logic Board replaced, and then restore the data we recovered onto the working Macbook (similar to a Time Machine restore).
  • This is a great example of how Payam Data Recovery uses state-of-the-art technology, expertise and hand skills to recover data from MacBook devices.
