Data Destruction Services

Our security facility in the Auckland CBD offers hard drive and tape degaussing, as well as hard drive and SSD secure erasing services. To guarantee a high standard of privacy, this is all done at our office in Auckland CBD, and not outsourced to any other company.

• $5 per hard drive or tape. This is a degaussing procedure. We will erase your data using a professional, state of the art degausser on hard disk drives and computer backup tapes. The cost is $5 per disk or tape. This is a fast and secure erasing method. Using a degausser is ideal if the device is faulty or damaged, and cannot be wiped using software. This will also cause the kill the device, which means that it will no longer work after the information has been erased. A certificate of destruction can also be provided upon request.
  
• $10 per Hard drive or SSD. This procedure leads to secure erasing of all of the data. We will erase the data using disk erasing or secure wiping software for hard disk drives (HDD) and solid state drives (SSD). US Department of Defence (DoD) 5220.22-m standard wiping will be used. We can only securely erase devices that are 100% healthy. If there are any hardware faults or read errors, our erasing method with a degausser must be used instead. The cost is $10 per disk. A certificate of destruction can also be provided upon request.
• Free hard drive and SSD wiping & recycling service. We will erase all of the data, and then keep the hardware… If you have unwanted hard drives and SSDs, we ask you to consider donating them to our spare parts collection. We’ll erase them for you for free and keep the parts. We will use the heads, PCB, or components for data recovery and research purposes. Your data will be erased for free. US Department of Defence (DoD) 5220.22-m standard wiping will be used. This is only available for hard disk drives and SSDs, and not available for other devices. The reason this is free is that we will keep all hardware for spare parts/donor drives for our own use.

Important note: We deal exclusively in hard drives, SSDs, and tapes. Do not deliver computers, servers, notebooks, or enclosures. We will not deal with such devices, through destruction or recycling, without an extra charge to you.
